MAKING RICE

Heyy, I thought I would do a recipe today with pictures to help you! I have been wanting to do this for aggges but have not had a chance to as i said I wasn't able to download the pictures!! I am so sorry I haven't had a chance to update in so long and I have so much content.  Youtube has got to me I admit....

So the ingredients used are:

1 cup of rice (but this can change to 2 cups etc, depends how many people eating)
1 vegetable or chicken stock cube (2 stock cubes if larger quantity)
1 onion
1/2 Spring onions
A handful of cherry tomatoes
1 pepper
1/2 celery
Vegetable oil to fry onion
Salt and pepper for seasoning
Cinnamon for seasoning (optional)

These are some of the ingredients I used but you can use anything such as mushrooms, sweetcorn, peas, just add them in Step 3 and make sure the mushrooms so add them first with tomatoes so they have longer to cook!

The recipe is:

1) Finely dice the onion  and put them in the frying pan with a little bit of vegetable oil. Fry until soft. Add chopped tomatoes.

2) Meanwhile  while onions are softening chop the rest of you vegetables.

3) Add rest of vegetables to pot once onions are ready, stir and leave for 3 minutes while measuring the rice and boiling the kettle.

4) After 4 minutes add the rice and stir well.  Measure the water and add the stock cube and mix together.

5) Add water to the rice and vegetables stirring. Mix in the salt, pepper and cinnamon to taste and carry on stirring. I used a wooden spoon but some use a normal metal spoon.

6)  I tend to leave it for about 10 minutes on a medium setting; putting the lid on fully. I didn't go far after 10 minutes I would come and stir it so it wouldn't stick to the bottom of the lid.

7)  When the water is absorbed, give it a taste as it might be still underdone so will need more water (not too much) and then let that be absorbed.

8)  You will know it is ready as it will not be hard when you eat it, it will be soft and yummy.

Voila it is ready!!! You can reheat if you want for next day... never had it cold but bet it is nice! I like to add cheese to my rice, it melts and is lovely!!!
